Installing the ESC

Step 17: To prepare the wire harness, clip and remove both red wires as they will not be used. Connect the wire harness for the ESC to the ESC using firm, but not excessive pressure so that the black signal wire is on the left. For wire sequence: Black and wire pair on left is for Motor 1, next to it is for 2, next to it is for 3 and the last on the right is for M4.

Step 18: Put washers on each of the four long nylon screws and thread them from the bottom into the box. Put washers and then spacers onto the long nylon screws on the portion of the screws inside the box.

Step 19: Put the ESC onto the screws so that the power cord is coming out through the front of the box. Push the ESC down onto the screws. It will be necessary to indicate which motor goes to which position on the ESC. These notes can be made on the inside of the box for ease in later configuring the motor. The back of the box will be the front of the drone, so the back-right arm during setup (Motor 1), will connect to ESC.

Step 20: Thread ESC wires through holes to motors and connect them in any order (during motor setup, some of the connections may be reversed).

Step 21: Place spacers or standoffs on the nylon screws to create a space between the ESC and flight controller plate. Place the controller plate onto the screws.

Step 22: Install two sticky pads on the controller plates to hold the flight controller to the deck. Then install nuts at the end of the screws to secure all parts together, tightening from the bottom.
